The Invest in Kids Act uses taxpayer money to pay for private schools. Ninety percent of students in Illinois attend PUBLIC schools and 80 percent of public schools in Illinois remain underfunded. When lawmakers return Oct. 24-26 and Nov. 7-9 for a veto session, they must allow the Act, which diverts up to $75 million a year away from neighborhood public schools, to sunset. You all helped keep the Invest in Kids Act out of the budget this year. Now, let’s ensure it sunsets during the veto session.
