The Illinois Primary on Tuesday, March 18th is one of the most important primaries in years. IEA and IPEA are asking our members to ask for a Republican ballot and vote for Kirk Dillard for governor.
We need to get Dillard on the November ballot as the Republian candidate for governor and give Illinoisans a choice. Bruce Rauner has made statement after statement about destroying public employees unions, especially the teachers. His ownership of charter schools also puts public education as we know it at risk in Illinois.
Please support Kirk Dillard on Tuesday.
Then make your choice in November. The other two targeted races on the Republican ballot in our area are for state Representatives. IEA has recommended:
- Rep. Sandra Pihos in House District 48
- Adam Johnson in House District 42
If either of these is your district, please help to elect a friend of education. This primary will be won or lost on the voter turn-out. VOTE! Remember that Kirk Dillard lost the 2010 primary by less than 200 votes. Let’s not have that happen again. Let the voices of teachers and their families be heard.
